His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airlines and the Group, sponsor of the International Exhibition of People of Determination, His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the Arab League, and His Excellency Abdullah Al Mazrouei, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE, witnessed the event. The Secretary-General of the Union of Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, held a ceremony to launch the “Living Independently” initiative, and the signing of the cooperation agreement between the “Union of Arab Chambers” and the management of the “People of Determination International Exhibition”, at the headquarters of Expo 2020 Dubai.
On this occasion and on behalf of the millions of people of determination who will benefit from this initiative, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum was honored and given the title of "Patron of Arab Innovation to Empower People of Determination", by His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, and His Excellency Dr. Khaled Hanafi, Secretary General of the Union of Arab Chambers, which operates under the umbrella of the Arab League.
The honoring of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed came in appreciation of his generous sponsorship of the "Living Independently" initiative, and his good efforts to empower more than 50 million people of determination living in the countries of the Middle East and aspire to help them live independently through modern technologies, technology and advanced rehabilitation programs.
After that, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed and His Excellency Ahmed Aboul Gheit blessed the signing of the joint cooperation agreement between the management of the International Exhibition of People of Determination and the Union of Arab Chambers, representing the initiative to live independently by Dr. Khaled Hanafi and Ghassan Suleiman Amhaz, the general coordinator of the exhibition. Before signing the agreement, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum met with His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Arab League, Dr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Secretary-General of the Union of Arab Chambers, Dr. Khaled Hanafi, and Dr. Hashim Hussain, Head of the Investment and Technology Promotion Office of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization - Bahrain, and General Coordinator of the International Media Expo of People of Determination, Ghassan Suleiman Amhaz, and the economic advisor at the Federation of Arab Chambers, Dr. Sarah Al-Jazzar, where the meeting touched on the achievements of the UAE in terms of empowering people of determination, as well as the importance of the initiative to live independently in the service of people of determination in the Arab world as a whole and its goals aimed at empowering people of determination and providing them with the opportunity to realize their dreams and aspirations.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed thanked the General Secretariat of the Union of Arab Chambers for launching this initiative, pointing out the importance of strengthening joint cooperation in order to serve our children of determination in the Arab countries. His Highness said: "I am happy to see more distinguished efforts and initiatives aimed at empowering people of determination and adapting technological innovation to meet their needs and achieve their hopes and aspirations."
On this occasion, Dr. Khaled Hanafi said: "The initiative is considered the first of its kind in the Arab world and aims to guide Arab innovators to play their role in serving this dear segment of our society and to create opportunities for them to live independently."
For his part, Ghassan Suleiman Amhaz said: "We are pleased to cooperate with the Federation of Arab Chambers and with the initiative's management in order to give more opportunities to people of determination, towards playing their role in serving their communities, and we will display the innovations of our Arab innovators within the activities of the International People of Determination Expo in its fourth session next November.”
